Concussions result in part from the inability of the brain’s neurons to produce energy to restore homeostasis disrupted by the shearing induced by the injury to the head. Aurora CTS uses Near Infrared (NIR) light to penetrate the skull, restoring cellular metabolism to normal levels. This technology has been tested repeatedly in animal and human studies as described by Hamblin. Our therapy is a helmet that will deliver therapeutic levels of NIR light uniformly around the cortex to treat the diffuse damage that results from a concussion.
